  • SemanticGov is a thirty six months EU-funded research and development project that aims at building the infrastructure (software, models, services, etc) necessary for enabling the offering of Semantic Web Services by public administration (PA). Through this cutting edge infrastructure, SemanticGov will address longstanding challenges faced by public administrations such as achieving interoperability amongst PA agencies both within a country as well as amongst countries, easing the discovery of PA services by its customers, facilitating the execution of complex services often involving multiple PA agencies in interworkflows. More importantly, this infrastructure will exploit SemanticGov as an enabler for reengineering PA service provision. To achieve this, the SemanticGov project aims at capitalizing on the Service Oriented Architectures paradigm, implemented through state-of-the-art Semantic Web Services technology and supported by rigorous and reusable public administration domain analysis and modelling, while being in line with all major European programmes and initiatives in the field e.g. the European Interoperability Framework and the recent work conducted by the EU IDABC Programme, the i2010 group of Member States representatives and the Competitiveness & Innovation (CIP) Programme.
  • SemanticGov ist ein EU-gefördertes Projekt eines internationalen Konsortiums bestehend aus 11 Organisationen (Unternehmen und Forschungseinrichtungen) aus 7 Ländern, das zum Ziel hat, die öffentliche Administration der Europäischen Union mithilfe von Semantic Web Services zu verbessern. Dabei geht es vor allem darum sowohl nationale als auch internationale administrative Angelegenheiten wie Behördengänge für den Bürger zu vereinfachen. Des Weiteren soll die zwischen-behördliche Zusammenarbeit erleichtert und verbessert werden. SemanticGov benutzt dazu neuestes Wissen aus dem Bereich rund um Semantic Web und Semantic Web Services. Der Startschuss für das Projekt wurde am 1. Januar 2006 gegeben; die Laufzeit beträgt 36 Monate. Das Budget umfasst 4.375.000,00 €, wovon die EU 2.720.000,00 € finanziert.
