It tells the story of the Moors Murders, which were committed during the 1960s by Myra Hindley and Ian Brady, from the view of Hindley's sister Maureen Smith. The film is the first known dramatisation of one of the most notorious killing sprees in British history and was made to mark the fortieth anniversary of Hindley and Brady's trial.

See No Evil won the British Academy Television Award for Best Drama Serial at the 2007 ceremony. A Region 1 DVD release happened on April 29, 2008. A Region 2 DVD release happened on July 7, 2008.
