Sebastião Alba (1940 – 2000) was a Portuguese poet, born in Braga that lived a long period of his life in former Portuguese colony Mozambique. He became a journalist in Mozambique and published three books of poetry before his decline caused by alcoholism. The last two decades of his life he became a homeless alcoholic wandering and living in the streets of Braga. During this period he wrote poems and texts in scrap papers, napkins and often giving them to friends and family.

Nasceu em Braga, onde viveu durante anos. Radicou-se, juntamente com a sua família, em 1950, em terras moçambicanas e só voltou a Portugal em 1984, transladando-se novamente para a «Cidade dos Arcebispos», Braga. Mas foi em Moçambique que se formou em jornalismo, e leccionou em várias escolas, e contraiu matrimónio com uma nativa. Publicou, em 1965, Poesias, inspirado na sua própria biografia. Um dos seus primeiros poemas foi Eu, a canção. Os seus três livros colocaram-no numa posição cimeira no ambiente cultural bracarense. Faleceu com 60 anos, atropelado numa rodovia. Deixa um bilhete dirigido ao irmão: «Se um dia encontrarem o teu irmão Dinis, o espólio será fácil de verificar: dois sapatos, a roupa do corpo e alguns papéis que a polícia não entenderá».
