Scott Shafer (born January 6, 1967) is an American football coach who was hired in January 2009 for the defensive coordinator position at Syracuse University. He resigned in December 2008 as the defensive coordinator for the University of Michigan Wolverines football team after less than one year on the job. He was a high school and college quarterback in Ohio at Riverside High School, Ohio University, and Baldwin-Wallace College.
