The band had spent over 3 years playing well over 300 shows all over the UK. The band's DIY birth and continued hard work ethic have earned them a loyal fan-base and continued upheaval. Saving Aimee's first release was a self-released free download single 'Small Talk' in July 2008, which received regular rotation on many music TV channels such as Kerrang! TV in the Summer and Autumn of 2008, as well as on The Hits (which is now 4Music), The Box (UK TV channel), Fizz TV, Scuzz, Kix (TV channel) and NME TV. Small Talk also received airplay on the BBC Radio 1 Zane Lowe show and received A-List rotation on Kerrang! Radio for 4 months, placing at number 9 in the most played and requested songs of the year on the station. In January 2009 the band did their first TV appearance, featuring on a UK TV show on BBC 2's 'BBC Switch' on a Saturday lunchtime. 2008/2009 also saw the band record their debut album with Justin Hawkins. The band's first single 'We're The Good Guys' from their forthcoming debut record was released on 3 August 2009. The single received positive press in magazines such as Kerrang!, TV airplay on all the pop music channels and was play-listed on BBC Radio 1 and Kerrang! Radio. In 2009 Saving Aimee started their own record label 'Hey You!'. With its first release being the single 'We're The Good Guys', which is available from all major music retailers in the UK. The band completed a national UK headline tour promoting their debut single in June/July 2009 with most of the shows selling out in advance. This included sell out shows at the Newcastle and Birmingham O2 Academy 2 venues. The band also headlined the Redbull stage at Underage Festival in the Summer of 2009. Parts of their show was filmed by the BBC. Debut single 'We're The Good Guys' was put onto the BBC Radio 1 playlist for 3 weeks in July 2009. Saving Aimee release their 2nd single "Fresh Since '88" October 11th 2009 and their debut album "We're The Good Guys" on October 26th 2009 through their own record label "Hey You!"
