The Sauria Paharia language is spoken in the Bihar and West Bengal states of India, and some pockets of Bangladesh. It is a member of the Northern branch of the Dravidian language family, along with the Kurukh language (also spoken in India) and the Brahui language spoken in Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan. Alternative names for the language include Sauria Malto, Hiranpur and Chatgam.
