Saosin is an American rock band originally hailing from Newport Beach, California. The band was formed in 2003 and recorded its first EP, Translating the Name, that same year with original singer Anthony Green. Green left Saosin following the band's decision to sign with a commercial label, Capitol Records. Vocalist Cove Reber took over as frontman as the band recorded its self titled debut album.

The band has sold 1,362,000 copies worldwide and plans to release a new album or EP later this year.

Esse provérbio consiste no coselho que o pai dava ao seu filho antes do casamento para não se apegar afetivamente com sua esposa tendo em vista que o país estava em guerra e ele corria o risco de morrer em batalha. Green explicou o significado por trás disso,na sua visão não é bom se apegar tanto a alguém ou a algo pois nunca se sabe o dia de amanha. Saosin também é o nome de uma musica da banda Audience of One da qual Anthony green fez parte antes do Saosin. Translating the Name Ep 17 de junho de 2003 Translating the Name foi a primeira demo da banda, contendo sete faixas de um ótimo post-hard core. O album ficou extremamente famoso pela internet com a musica "Seven years", sendo muito divulgado em todas as redes sociais on-line, como o Myspace. Muitos perguntavam-se se era uma garota ou um homem que cantava as musicas e Anthony Green, com seus vocais agudos, chamou muito a atenção com suas letras reflexivas que cativaram muitos fãs. O baterista Pat McGrath não pode gravar este album pois ainda tinha um contrato com a antiga banda e foi logo substituído por Alex Rodrigues e o baixista Zach Kennedy abandonou a banda, pois queria estudar artes e exercer sua profissão.
