- A wrap is a variant of a taco or burrito which includes traditional sandwich fillings wrapped in a soft flour tortilla, pita, lavash or other soft flatbread. It is not served on a deli, hoagie, or submarine type roll. The most popular wraps contain chicken, but beef and shrimp are also served. Typical toppings include shredded lettuce, diced tomato or pico de gallo, guacamole, sauteed mushrooms, bacon, grilled onions, cheese such as Cheddar, and some condiment, such as ranch or honey mustard dressing.
- Wraps (von englisch to wrap, „wickeln, einhüllen“) sind dünne, mit einer Füllung zu Rollen gewickelte Fladenbrote. Ihr Ursprung liegt in der Tex-Mex-Küche, weshalb als Hülle häufig Tortillas verwendet werden. Für die Füllung gibt es keine festen Rezepte, sie besteht meist aus Gemüse oder Salat, gebratenem Fleisch und einer pikanten Sauce, Sauerrahm oder ähnlichem. Seit den 90er Jahren sind Wraps auch in Europa als Fastfood und zwangloses Fingerfood populär geworden. Aus der orientalischen Küche stammen vergleichbare Imbisse aus in Yufka oder ähnliche Fladen gewickeltem Grillfleisch, meist mit Gemüse oder Salat und einer Sauce.
