- Sam Watters is a songwriter and record producer, previously of the group Color Me Badd, who often works with his songwriting partner Louis Biancaniello. The pair have written and produced hits such as Jessica Simpson's "I Wanna Love You Forever", and the #1 singles "I Believe" by Fantasia Barrino, "I'm Outta Love," and "One Day In Your Life" by Anastacia. While a member of early 90's act Color Me Badd, Watters co-wrote many of their songs, including three #1 hit singles: "I Wanna Sex You Up," "I Adore Mi Amor," and "All 4 Love. " Watters recently wrote and produced "Battlefield", the new Jordin Sparks single, with Louis Biancaniello, Ryan Tedder, and Wayne Wilkins. He also wrote / produced "When I See U" performed by Fantasia Barrino, which was a Billboard R&B #1 for 8 weeks, and 4 songs on the multi-platinum debut release from "X Factor" winner Leona Lewis entitled "Spirit. " In September 2006, he married former American Idol contestant Tamyra Gray, his girlfriend of two years, with whom he wrote "I Believe". Sam Watters is the founding member of production group "The Runaways," which also includes Ryan Tedder (of One Republic), Rico Love, Wayne Wilkins, and Louis Biancaniello. Together they wrote and produced "Love Like This" by Natasha Bedingfield featuring Sean Kingston (from Natasha Bedingfield's Pocket Full of Sunshine album), which quickly climbed the charts, reaching number ten on the Pop 100 charts, number ten on the Top 40 Mainstream charts, and number one on the Hot Dance Club Play charts. The Runaways produced Keri Hilson's first single of her debut album, In A Perfect World... , "Energy", which is quickly climbing the charts. Sam and Louis wrote and produced 4 songs on the new Kelly Clarkson album, including the title track "All I Ever Wanted. " He also co-produced the entire upcoming debut release of Kate Earl (Universal / Republic) with Biancaniello. Watters co-wrote Lemar's second single, "Weight of the World", from his fourth studio album The Reason. Sam is currently in the studio working with Leona Lewis on her next album, as well as new X Factor winner Alexandra Burke. He and Louis have also worked with UK girlband The Saturdays, on their fist single from their sophmore album, "Forever Is Over". On December 6, 2007, Watters was nominated for a 50th Annual Grammy Award Best Song for his songwriting credits on When I See U. " He has been nominated 6 times (3 with Color Me Badd).
