Söğüt is a town and district of Bilecik Province in the Marmara region of Turkey. Söğüt has an area of 599 km (231 sq mi) and borders Bilecik to the west, Gölpazarı to the north, İnhisar to the northeast, Eskişehir to the southeast, and Bozüyük to the southwest. The 2000 census put the population at 21,012 citizens, and according to a 2005 estimate, the population was about 22,000. Söğüt has 5 boroughs and 23 villages.

Mesut tarafından Domaniç ile birlikte verilmiştir. Osmanlı döneminde önce Sultanönü sancağının merkeziyken, sonra merkezin Eskişehir'e taşınmasıyla bu sancağa bağlı bucağa dönüşmüştür. 1648 yılında Anadolu vilayeti Bursa sancağının Lefke (bugün Osmaneli) kazasına bağlı bıcaktı. Daha sonra Anadolu eyaletine bağlı merkezi Bilecik olan Ertuğrul sancağının sınırlarına katıldı. En son Hüdavengidar vilayetine bağlı Ertuğrul sancağına bağlı kazaydı. Kutuluş savaşında 3 kez Yunan işgaline uğramış ve 6 Eylül 1922'de işgalden yanmış bir şekilde kurtulmuştur. İlçeye bağlı Kızılsaray köyünün girişinde, hem Osmanlıca, hem de Rumca yazılar taşıyan bir Yunan karakolu bulunmaktadır ve bu karakol harap haldedir.
