Russell Craig Mael (born in Santa Monica, California, various sources giving conflicting birth dates ranging from 5 October 1948 to 1953) is an American singer and songwriter who, with his older brother Ron, is in the cross-genre band, Sparks. His most notable vocal trait is a far-reaching falsetto, especially evident on songs such as "Equator" from Sparks' Kimono My House album. In 2005, he contributed to the UNICEF benefit song, "Do They Know It's Hallowe'en?".
