Robert Carl "Bud" McFarlane (born July 12, 1937) is the former National Security Advisor to President Ronald Reagan, serving from 1983 to late-1985. He was one of the major players in the Iran-Contra affair. He eventually pleaded guilty to misdemeanors counts of withholding information from Congress. He was pardoned by George H. W. Bush.
