Robert Cohen is an American film director, producer and writer. As a director, Cohen is mainly known for his hit films Daylight, xXx, and The Fast and the Furious. Cohen was born in Cornwall, New York. He graduated from Harvard University. As producer, he has been behind many major motion pictures, including The Witches of Eastwick, The Serpent and the Rainbow, and The Running Man. His latest movie is the third film in Universal Studios' The Mummy franchise began by Stephen Sommers.

Die Hexen von Eastwick. Sein Debüt als Regisseur gab er 1980 mit dem Film Unter guten Freunden. Er wirkte auch an einigen TV-Serien mit, so u.a. an Miami Vice. 1993 kehrte er mit Dragon – Die Bruce Lee Story zurück ins Kino und dreht seit dem zahlreiche, erfolgreiche Filme. Einer der bekanntesten ist xXx – Triple X mit Vin Diesel in der Hauptrolle. In vielen seiner Filme hat er kurze Auftritte. Nebenher schrieb er auch einige Drehbücher, so u.a. für den Horrorfilm Das Ritual – Im Bann des Bösen aus dem Jahre 2001. Rob Cohen hat einen Sohn namens Kyle Cohen sowie Drillinge, Zoe, Jasi und Sean Cohen (* März 2008). Sein neuestes Projekt ist die Fortsetzung von Die Mumie kehrt zurück, dieser Film kam am 7. August 2008 in die deutschen Kinos.
