Rita Ganguly is an Indian classical musician, vocalist, author, and the founder of Kaladharmi, a non-profit organization for the promotion of performing arts and Begum Akhtar Academy of Ghazals (BAAG), a ghazal academy. A winner of 2000 Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, she was honoured by the Government of India in 2003 with Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian award.
