Rick Green is a Canadian comedian, satirist, and writer. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo. From 1975 until 1979, he worked as a presenter at the Ontario Science Centre. In 1979, he helped found the Toronto-based comedy troupe The Frantics. They were heard on their CBC Radio show Frantic Times and their short-lived television series, Four on the Floor.

He and his writing partner Steven Smith developed the Red Green Show, and Green wrote for the show for eight years, He plays a minor role in The Terminal Experiment, by Robert J. Sawyer, as the brain source for a prototype full neural network of the brain. In 1988, he appeared on the children's TV show Sharon, Lois & Bram's Elephant Show as a genie. He guest starred in episode #55 (Season 5) titled 'Elephant's Lamp'. Green also penned a number of notable op-eds in the Globe and Mail, including a glossary of phrases for World War 3 with definitions like: Manhattan Project: a project to turn an entire city into an uninhabitable wasteland -- hence the name Manhattan. Small Theatre Nuclear Exchange: so called because it is curtains for the players after a single act.
