Rundgren was a starting shortstop in the Midwest League 2002 All-Star Game. Released by the Marlins organization after spring training in 2008, Rundgren was signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers and assigned to the AAA Las Vegas 51s. He is the son of rock 'n roll musician Todd Rundgren. His younger brother Randy Rundgren plays ball for Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri.
