The Reformed Episcopal Church (REC) is an Anglican church in the United States and Canada and a founding member of the new Anglican Church in North America. Founded in 1873 by Bishop George David Cummins, formerly of the Protestant Episcopal Church, the Reformed Episcopal Church conducts services according to its own edition of the Book of Common Prayer, based heavily on the Church of England's 1662 Book of Common Prayer. As of 2009, the REC has over 13,600 members in 141 parishes and missions.
