In 1996 Henry Olmino, Jeronimo Gomez and Mathew Crum were all playing under the alias As Friends Rust along with Damien Moyal on vocals. After recording a demo, the band broke up and the three members (without Moyal) joined up to start Red Letter Day. The band recorded a short EP in 1996, and the album was released in 1997 by Eulogy Records. The band soon after broke up. The same three members went on to lay the foundations of The Rocking Horse Winner along with vocalist Jolie Lindholm.
