Real Sociedad de Fútbol B (also known as Sanse) is the reserve team of Real Sociedad and one of the top teams of the Spanish Segunda División league. It was founded in 1951 under the name of San Sebastián Club de Fútbol (hence the nickname "Sanse"). Unlike the English football league system, reserve teams in the Spanish football league system play in the same football pyramid as their senior team rather than a separate league.

It was founded in 1951 under the name of San Sebastián Club de Fútbol (hence the nickname "Sanse"). Unlike the English football league system, reserve teams in the Spanish football league system play in the same football pyramid as their senior team rather than a separate league. However, reserve teams cannot play in the same division as their senior team. Therefore, the team is ineligible for promotion to the Segunda División. As a reserve team of Real Sociedad, its main function is to train and prepare young players who will later become part of its senior team, at the expense of good results in the league. Sanse has been home to plenty of players who subsequently achieved renown in Real Sociedad and elsewhere and has provided most of the current Real Sociedad players.

Attualmente la Real Sociedad continua a mantenere nel suo organico una maggioranza di giocatori formati nel Sanse. Per quanto riguarda le categorie nelle quali ha militato, il Sanse arrivò a raggiungere la Segunda División spagnola nel 1960. Nella stagione seguente (1961-62) ottenne la sua migliore classificazione, un 5º posto. Tuttavia, si verificò il paradosso che ad un ottimo campionato della squadra satellite si affiancò un pessimo campionato della Real Sociedad de Fútbol, che scese in quella stessa stagione dalla Prima alla Seconda divisione. La Real trascinò nella sua caduta il Sanse nella Tercera División spagnola, poiché una squadra satellite non può giocare nella stessa categoria della "sorella maggiore". Il gruppo di giocatori che militò nella Segunda división fu lo stesso che cinque anni dopo riuscì a riportare la Real Sociedad in Primera división. Da allora, il Sanse non è mai più ritornato in Seconda divisione, passando il resto dei campionati fino ad oggi nella Tercera División spagnola o nella Segunda División B spagnola. Nel 1991 e nel 2006 arrivò a disputare i play-off per la promozione alla Segunda división. Nel 1992 un cambiamento nella normativa obbligò la squadra a cambiare nome e da allora è conosciuta ufficialmente come Real Sociedad de Fútbol B, sebbene a livello popolare continui ad essere chiamata Sanse.
