Like its predecessor Wo der Pfeffer wächst, the CD is purely a cappella with no instrumentation and, with the sole exception of the "Mad World" cover, is entirely self-composed numbers. The majority of the songs were composed by Daniel Dickopf.

Bei den Fans zählen unter anderem der Titelsong „Radio“, das erstmals mit einem weiblichen Gast (Sonja Wilts von „LaLeLu“) aufgenommene Lied „Das fremde Wesen“, die Partynummer „Jetzt und Hier“, aber auch ruhigere Titel wie „Sie bricht mir das Herz“ und Ferenc' bassiger „Tiefgang“ zu den Favoriten.

Il s'agit d'un album conceptuel : il est en effet construit comme un véritable programme radio avec de petits intermèdes (informations - Nachrichten, sport - Sport, horoscope - Das Horoskop... ) entre les dix-huit chansons de l'album. Radio a atteint la 3 place dans le hit parade allemand, un record pour le groupe. Pendant 12 semaines, l'album est resté dans le top 100 des charts allemands. Comme les deux derniers opus, Radio a été enregistré intégralement a cappella et toutes les chansons de l'album sont des compositions propres au groupe (notamment par Daniel Dickopf) hormis le titre Mad World des Tears for Fears. La chanson Das fremde Wesen est chantée avec Sonja Witts du groupe LaLeLu. Ruf doch mal an '06 est une reprise de leur chanson de l'album Alles im grünen Bereich.
