The school opened for the new academic year on August 25 and classes began on August 27. This year (2009) is commonly recognized as the Queen Elizabeth High school centennial, Students are very excited in celebrating this centennial along with ex-seniors from the 1960 graduating class, who have been invited to the school for a posh centennial dinner and dance.
