The plan for Protogen Records began in late 2001, with the first release being Typecell's "Bad Illusions" / "Justice of War", in May of 2002. Since the launch, Protogen has signed an impressive roster of talented producers and is establishing itself as one of the most dynamic and innovative labels in the international drum and bass scene. The style of drum and bass off these label's is mostly Tech-Step\Neurofunk. On the other hand Protogen Records doesn't label the music as it is always evolving.
