Prong is an American heavy metal band formed in 1986. Prong had two independent releases, Primitive Origins and Force Fed. The albums attracted the attention of Epic Records, who signed the trio in 1989. The group disbanded in 1997 after the Rude Awakening tour, but re-formed in 2002. A pioneer of the urban metal scene, Prong is fronted by Tommy Victor.

All'apice di un momento artistico estremamente interessante, i Prong vennero scaricati nel 1997 dalla propria casa discografica, costringendo Ted Parsons a chiamarsi fuori. Nel 2002 Tommy Victor, dopo un periodo di collaborazioni con Glenn Danzig e parte del gotcha techno industrial statunitense ha riassemblato il progetto lavorando con nuovi musicisti (l'apprezzabilissimo chitarrista Monte Pittman - insegnante e turnista d'eccezione per Madonna) e dopo il ritorno discografico con Scorpio Rising si parla di un nuovo album previsto per il prossimo futuro. Nel 2006 Paul Raven e Tommy Victor hanno costituito l'anima del violento ritorno sulle scene dei Ministry, Rio Grande Blood. Si rumoreggia che il duo sia attualmente al lavoro su un nuovo disco. Il 2 ottobre 2007 è prevista l'uscita del nuovo album "Power Of The Damager"
