The Principality of Hutt River, previously known as Hutt River Province, is Australia's oldest micronation. The principality has claimed to be an independent sovereign state since its foundation but it is not recognized by the Commonwealth of Australia or any other international entity. The principality is located on a large farming property 517 km north of Perth, near the town of Northampton.

Es scheint tatsächlich, als genieße Casley gewisse Freiheiten. In offiziellen Statements der australischen Behörden wird die Unabhängigkeit des Fürstentums jedoch regelmäßig bestritten. Kein Staat der UNO hat das Fürstentum als souverän anerkannt.

También cumple con las típicas funciones de crías ganado y práctica la agricultura, de la cuales paga los impuestos que impone la ley a estos terrenos.
