Hier befinden sich unter anderem eine Freiluftkonzertbühne, der Ross Band Stand, das Scott Monument, ein Kriegsdenkmal und eine Blumenuhr. Unter den Kaufhäusern an der Nordseite findet sich auch das berühmte Jenners Kaufhaus. Neben den Gärten liegen auf der Südseite der Bahnhof Waverley, das Balmoral Hotel und am Fuße des Mound die Royal Scottish Academy und die National Gallery of Scotland.

Door deze situatie, die ook door het parlement is bekrachtigd, heeft de bezoeker van de straat een onbelemmerd en spectaculair uitzicht op de Old Town, de Princes Street Gardens en Edinburgh Castle. De enige uitzondering is het gebouw van het imposante Balmoral Hotel ter hoogte van North Bridge. Daarnaast ligt de ingang van het spoorwegstation Waverley en het ondergrondse winkelcentrum Princes Mall.
