The Postal Services Act 2000 (c.26) is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, which governs the postal industry. It establishes the industry regulator, PostComm (s.1), the consumer watchdog, Postwatch (s.2), requires a "universal service" of post be provided (ss.3-4) and sets up rules for licensing postal services operators (ss.6-41). It also made some changes to the way that the public branch of the postal industry is organised, by reincorporating as Royal Mail Ltd.
