Peter Makuck (born October 26, 1940) is an American poet, short story writer, and critic. He is emeritus Professor of English at East Carolina University, where he was also the first Distinguished Professor of Arts and Sciences; he has also served as Visiting Writer in Residence at Brigham Young University, and Visiting Distinguished Professor at North Carolina State University. In 1993 Makuck received the Charity Randall Citation from the International Poetry Forum.
