After the conclusion of the war, Penn State officials considered closing the center, but fundrasing through local nonprofits kept the facility open. In 1959, the school was formally integrated as a branch campus of Penn State. Afterward, the college, one of few in the relatively rural surrounding error, was marketed as a major community institution for not just Dubois' Clearfield County, but also nearby Jefferson and Elk Counties. Currently, 11 associate degree and 3 bachelor's degree programs can be completed entirely on site. The first two years of an additional 160 majors can be started at Dubois, with students transferring to Penn State's main campus to complete their degree.
