" Known for his unsympathetic portrayals, he voiced the evil rat Jenner in the animated feature The Secret of NIMH (1982). After seeing what kind of drawing Jenner was depicted as, Paul Shenar requested to director Don Bluth that he re-dub his lines in order to give Jenner a more villanous tone fit for the animation. Bluth later commented he would have liked to hire Shenar to also voice the comic villain Borf in the video game Space Ace, but due to budget limitations the role went to Bluth himself. Shenar died of AIDS-related complications in West Hollywood, California in 1989.
