  • Paul Layton (born 4 August 1947) is a British pop musician and former child actor. He is best known for being the bass guitar player of the group The New Seekers. Layton made a few television appearances as a child actor in series such as Dixon of Dock Green and Danger Man, and had a small singing role in the Judy Garland-Dirk Bogarde film I Could Go On Singing (1963). However it was in the late 1960s with the formation of the New Seekers in Australia that he found fame as bassist, joining the line-up in 1970. Although the line-up has changed over the years, Layton is the longest-serving member still touring with the group. He is the father of singer-songwriter Lucy Layton.
