Patricia van Dalen, is a Venezuelan visual painter. She graduated from Graphic Design in the "Instituto de Diseño Fundacion Neumann" in Caracas. During 1980 and 1986, the artist studied and lived in Paris, and worked with the well-known artist Yaacov Agam. Van Dalen has taught in the Design Institute Foundation and the Architecture School of the Central University of Venezuela.

Entre 1980 y 1986 se formó y trabajó en París con el reconocido artista cinético Yaacov Agam en un método de Educación Visual para niños. Su trayectoria artística la ha hecho merecedora de diversos reconocimientos entre los que se destacan: Segundo Premio de la II Bienal de Artes Visuales Christian Dior, Caracas, 1991; Primer Premio del I Salón Nacional de Artes Visuales, Museo Alejandro Otero, Caracas, 1992; y Premio Único del Concurso de Ideas para la Galería-Mural de la Autopista Prados del Este, Caracas, 2001. La obra de Van Dalen se encuentra representada en importantes colecciones tanto públicas como privadas en Venezuela y en el exterior, entre las cuales figuran la colección de Su Majestad La Reina de los Países Bajos y la de McDonald's. Su más reciente obra pública es el Mural en cerámica llamado Jardín Lumínico, inaugurado en la Autopista Prados del Este de Caracas, Venezuela en agosto de 2005.
