Ende 2007 kündigt Obispo in einer Sendung auf TF1 an, seine eigene Karriere ruhen zu lassen, um eine Auszeit zu nehmen. Die Auszeit möchte er nach eigener Aussage in Los Angeles verbringen. Am 8. Januar 2008 feierte der Sänger seinen 43. Geburtstag mit einem dreieinhalbstündigen Gratis-Livekonzert, zu dem er 1200 Fans einlud. Seinen Rückzug wird Obispo nach einer letzten Teilnahme am Projekt Les Enfoirés Ende Januar 2008 beginnen.
