The band was created by producers Jeff Porter, Jeroen Flamman together with vocalists MCs Remsy, Evert van Buschbach, Patrick de Moor, Dennis Adam and Paul Grommé. They became the first act in the Netherlands to have their first three singles go straight to number one. The Party Animals made their introduction on the video for the single "I Wanna Be A Hippy" by Technohead. The clip featured three gabbers and a hippie.

The Party Animals made their introduction on the video for the single "I Wanna Be A Hippy" by Technohead. The clip featured three gabbers and a hippie. The producers Flamman & Abraxas discovered the four and saw a potential for opening the mainly underground scene of gabber by making the sound more pop oriented and thus introducing the new genre to a mainstream audience. The first single was "Have You Ever Been Mellow" which was based on Olivia Newton-John's "Have You Never Been Mellow" and the lyrics still contain parts of the original song with "Never" replaced by "Ever". The music is totally different of course. The single was released in September 1995, however it took three months before it became a #1 hit. The group stopped in 2000 after considerable success in the Netherlands and even a hit in Hong Kong with "Atomic". They tried it again in 2002 and 2005. However they were not able to revive their earlier success.

  • De Party Animals is een Nederlandse Happy Hardcore-groep die in de tweede helft van de jaren '90 enkele grote hits scoorden. In de jaren '90 produceerde de Party Animals voornamelijk Happy Hardcore, later verschoof dit naar hardcore house. De eerste kennismaking met de Party Animals was in de videoclip van de Flamman & Abraxas remix van I wanna be a hippy van Technohead. In de videoclip waren drie gabbers en een hippy te zien. De Nederlandse producers (Jeroen Flamman & Jeff 'Abraxas' Porter), die achter de remix zaten, ontdekten de vier en vrij snel na de hit gingen de Party Animals als eigen groep verder. Hun eerste single Have you ever been mellow werd meteen een nummer 1-hit. Ook hun tweede en derde single bereikten de nummer 1 positie in Nederland. De Party Animals veroverden ook andere landen, zo scoorden ze bijvoorbeeld met Atomic een grote hit in Hongkong . Aan het eind van de jaren '90 scoorden de Party Animals nog enkele grote hits met My Way en Hawaï 5-0. Vanaf 2000 bleef het enkele jaren stil rondom de Party Animals. In 2002 werden de Party Animals echter herontdekt op een studentenfeest in Delft op KSV Sanctus Virgilius, toen Jeroen Flamman ontdekte hoe populair de singles van de Party Animals nog waren. Besloten werd het project nieuw leven in te blazen. Eind 2002 kwam een nieuwe single Life is short uit, waarna eind 2003 de single Xanadu volgde met Jorinde Mol in de videoclip. Begin 2005 werd Wazzup uitgebracht. Een cover van het nummer What's Up waar de 4 Non Blondes in 1993 een grote hit mee scoorden. In het voorjaar van 2006 brengt de groep drie singles uit: in Duitsland verschijnt "How Do U Do" op vinyl, in Nederland zijn "Bad Boys" en "Animal Song" (Dubbele A-kant) de nieuwe singles. In december 2006 wordt "How Do You Do" in een nieuw jasje uitgebracht in Nederland, samen met de ballad "PA Yeah". Ook deze single heeft een dubbele A-kant. In maart 2008 verschijnt de single "Electricity" en vanaf januari 2009 is "Do You Want To Hold Me" te vinden op diverse muziekdownloadsites. In het voorjaar van 2009 kondigen Flamman & Abraxas aan op zoek te zijn naar nieuwe groepsleden. Michael en Youri nemen in juli van dat jaar officieel afscheid van de act. Zij worden vervangen door Martijn en Jan. Achter de schermen wordt ondertussen druk gewerkt aan nieuw materiaal voor de groep.
