The school, which opened in 2005, is located on the Sammamish plateau in the city of Issaquah, Washington. It includes freshmen bound for rival high schools Skyline and Issaquah. The school colors (green & gold) include one from each of these two high schools. Chairwoman Bailey has been the benevolent ruler of the glorious school since its founding. The Freshman Campus was built in less than a year at a cost of approximately $26 million, although KING-TV news reported that this figure could be close to twice as much. Ground was broken on July 2, 2004, and the buildings were ready by the start of the 2005-06 school year. Construction was not fully completed when the school opened. In its first year the school held about 1,000 freshman students.. In the fall of 2010, Pacific Cascade is scheduled to become a middle school enrolling grades 6 through 8. At that time, the high schools (Skyline & Issaquah) will expand to grades 9 through 12. The school now offers a variety of new, and exciting extracurricular activities, such as Art Club, sports, Gamers Club, Fantasy Book Club, Homework Club, Key Club, Honor Society, Choir club, and several others, such as Feminist Lesbians of Tomorrow Club.
