In 2004 had het bedrijf een omzet van € 5,54 miljard. In mei 2005 werd bekend gemaakt dat A.P. Moller-Maersk Group het bedrijf over zou nemen voor een bedrag van € 2,3 miljard. De nieuwe combinatie werd onder de naam Maersk Line met een marktaandeel van 18% met voorsprong de grootste in de scheepvaartindustrie.
