Owen Robert Spencer-Thomas MBE was born into a farming family on 3 March 1940 in Braughing, Hertfordshire, England. He is perhaps best known as a television and radio news journalist over three decades, but he has also done a wide range of philanthropric work as volunteer charity fundraiser, pioneer and campaigner for people with autism and other disabiliies. Fewer people know that he combined his career with that of ordained Anglican clergyman.
