- Oskar Troplowitz byl německý lékárník, spoluvynálezce krému Nivea. Oskar pocházel z bohaté židovské rodiny. Kolem roku 1870 se rodina Troplowitzových přestěhovala do Vratislavi. Tam Oskar studoval farmacii.
- Oscar Troplowitz was a German pharmacist and entrepreneur who purchased Beiersdorf AG, which was then a laboratory and chemist's shop in Hamburg from Paul Carl Beiersdorf in 1890. Troplowitz soon expanded the company into selling brand-name merchandise as well. Under Troplowitz's ownership, the company developed several of its own products, including Nivea, Leukoplast, Labello, and a pressure sensitive tape that would later be called "Tesafilm". As did Paul Beiersdorf, Troplowitz maintained a close business relationship with dermatologist Paul Gerson Unna. It was Unna's recommendation that Troplowitz hired Isaak Lifschütz, a chemist who discovered the emulsifying agent Eucerit, which is the main ingredient in Nivea. Troplowitz also made several reforms regarding worker benefits at Beiersdorf, such as paid vacations, maternity leave, and a 48-hour work week.

- Oskar Troplowitz - niemiecki farmaceuta, współwynalazca kremu Nivea. Wkrótce rozwinął firmę opracowując pierwszą pastę do zębów o nazwie „Pebeco” (powstała ona z połączenie dwóch past Florisal i Kalichloricum), zastąpiła ona dotychczas używany do mycia zębów proszek. Setki tysięcy opakowań tej pasty eksportował później do Stanów Zjednoczonych. W 1901 roku kolejny sukces przyniosło mu wynalezienie samoprzylepnego plastra opatrunkowego.
