Use of the collection is free during regular business hours. ONE Archives originated from the earliest national gay publication, ONE, Inc.. ONE’s Library and Jim Kepner’s archives merged in the early 1990s, creating and evolving into the premier source for gay and lesbian research in the nation. It has operated as an institute that was able to confer the first academic certificates in gay studies. Since the 1990s, ONE has functioned as a world class research center for the study of all things relevant in scholarship relating to gender studies. ONE is affiliated with but not governed by the University of Southern California.
