Several neighborhoods, including most of North Hollywood, Valley Village, Studio City, and Sun Valley, send students to this school. As of 2008, the school principal is Dr. Randall V. Delling. From 2000 to 2007, North Hollywood High was a year-round school with 3 tracks (A, B, and C). During the 2007-2008 school year, a traditional calendar was re-adopted. The school itself is divided into small learning communities that include various academies with a wide range of focuses, including Entertainment and Media, Social Justice, Transportation Careers, Home Engineering, Humanities (DaVinci), Environmental Health Awareness, and Acquiring Bilingual Leaders in Education (A.B.L.E.)
