The Nkomati Accord was a nonagression treaty signed on 16 March 1984 between the Mozambican government and the apartheid government of the Republic of South Africa. The event took place at the South African town of Komatipoort with the signatories being Samora Machel and PW Botha. Despite repeated pleas from Machel for leaders of other SADCC nations to attend, the complete absence of any such heads of state demonstrated the derision the Accord was viewed with from these nations.

- The Nkomati Accord was a nonagression treaty signed on 16 March 1984 between the Mozambican government and the apartheid government of the Republic of South Africa. The event took place at the South African town of Komatipoort with the signatories being Samora Machel and PW Botha. Despite repeated pleas from Machel for leaders of other SADCC nations to attend, the complete absence of any such heads of state demonstrated the derision the Accord was viewed with from these nations. The treaty's stated focus was on preventing Mozambique from supporting the African National Congress (ANC) on the one hand, and South Africa from supplying the Mozambican National Resistance (ReNaMo), on the other. However, while Machel only partially honored commitments to expel various ANC members from his territory, the South African government continued to funnel arms and other supplies to ReNaMo, allowing their destabilization of the South East African country to continue apace. A permanent peace accord finally ended the brutal 12 year RENAMO insurgency in 1992 and was supervised by ONUMOZ until 1994.
- Ugoda Nkomati - porozumienie o nieagresji podpisane 16 marca 1984 roku pomiędzy Mozambikiem i RPA w południowoafrykańskim mieście Komatipoort. Traktat podpisai prezydenci obu krajów, Samora Machel i Pieter Willem Botha. W ugodzie rząd Afryki Południowej zgodził się zaprzestać finansowania Narodowego Ruchu Oporu Mozambiku, jeśli rząd Mozambiku zobowiąże się do wydalenia z kraju członków Afrykańskiego Kongresu Narodowego. Warunki zostały zaakceptowane, ale południowoafrykański rząd w dalszym ciągu finansował i wyposażał mozambickich rebeliantów.
