Nicoloso da Recco was an 14th century Italian navigator from Genoa, who visited the Canary Islands in 1341 on behalf of Afonso IV of Portugal. He is credited with providing the first reliable account of the language used by the aboriginal inhabitants of the Canary Islands, the Guanches. An Italian Navy destroyer, Nicoloso da Recco, bore his name during the Second World War.

Per tramite di una raccolta dello scrittore Giovanni Boccaccio si sa che, insieme al fiorentino Angiolino del Tegghia de' Corbizzi, compì nel 1341 un viaggio alle Isole Canarie, per conto di Alfonso IV del Portogallo. Il suo nome è stato dato ad un cacciatorpediniere della Regia Marina italiana che operò durante la seconda guerra mondiale. Anche un liceo scientifico nella città di Recco porta il suo nome.
