The Nelly Sachs Prize is a literary prize given every two years by the German city of Dortmund. It is named after the author Nelly Sachs and includes a cash award of €15,000. Due to the financial situation of the city of Dortmund, there are not enough funds to be able to honour the Awardee for 2009. So the prize will be awarded in 2010. This is the first time that the bi-annual schedule has be changed.
