The National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges (NASULGC) is the former name of the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities (APLU). The association's new name became effective March 30, 2009. It is the oldest higher-education association within the US. Current membership consists of 214 public universities. APLU is considered a "presidential" association since basic membership is directed toward university presidents.
