Najafabad is a city in Isfahan Province, Iran. In 2006 it had an estimated population of 282,430 (1991 pop. 160,004), (2002 pop. 200,000). It is located west of Isfahan and is increasingly becoming a part of Isfahan Metropolitan area. Najafabad is the birthplace of Grand Ayatollah Hossein-Ali Montazeri, Mostafa Moeen, and Nema Nemati. It is also the hometown of Iranian-American poet Dr.
