Als Joint Venture zwischen Myanma Airways und singapurischen Partnern entstand im Jahr 1993 die internationale Fluggesellschaft Myanmar Airways International (MAI). Neben Myanma Airways und Myanmar Airways International operieren drei weitere myanmarische Airlines Air Bagan, Air Mandalay und Yangon Airways. Sie bedienen überwiegend die über dreißig Flugziele innerhalb Myanmars.
