Murdo MacDonald-Bayne was a Scottish- born healer, lecturer, and author. He was born in the Parish of Kenmore, Perthshire, the second son of a landholder and was named Murdo Bayne MacDonald, 'Bayne' being his mother's maiden name which he later used as nom de plume. His early education was in medicine but he became dissatisfied with the standard medical training of the day. In 1913 he married and two sons were born of this union.
