- Mr Duke is a Welsh bilingual anti-folk singer-songwriter/guitarist. The former Elysium Field singer went solo in the winter of 2003, after which a long journey of personal abuse inspired by listening to Jack Kerouac's "On the road" whilst under the influence, meant Duke took off and travelled the roads of Britain, trying to figure out where everyone went wrong. The journey resulted in his first two solo albums, the first "I can't find my keys!" was released by Earth Monkey Productions in May 2007 - and is available as a free download from here - http://www. earthmp. com. The Second was a joint release between Duke and Earth Monkey and was released in December 2007 - and is also available from the Earth Monkey Website, as well as Independent record shops across Wales. Mr Duke (as Gwynfor Dafydd Edwards) now lives in Pontypridd, originally from Llwyngwril. Duke's band of roving musicians, known collectively as The Hoodlum Circus, currently consists of Argentine drumming powerhouse Cristian "Amigo" Marcico, trash guitar virtuoso Macauly James Crackpipe (also of The Tenants Supermen) and bass player Josh "Yoshi" Webber. Duke also founded the Anti-Folk Wales nights @ Clwb Y Bont, Pontypridd, and is helping the scene to flourish by booking some of Britain's best antifolkers.
