- The Mourousis or Moruzi are a family which was first mentioned in the Empire of Trebizond. Its origins have been lost, but the two prevalent theories are that they were either a local family originating in a village which has a related name or else one that arrived with the Venetians during the Fourth Crusade (since there are records of a Venetian family with a similar name a generation earlier). They became one of the leading families of Greek Phanariotes. The family moved to present-day Romania in the 17th century, became Dragomans and boyars, and gave Wallachia and Moldavia two hospodars - Princes Constantine and Alexander. Members of the family remained in Romania and Bessarabia until the Soviet occupation post-World War II.

Keschko), Gemahlin von Milan Obrenovic, dem ersten König von Serbien, von mütterlicher Seite her eine Verwandte der Mourousis, auf deren Güter sie sich nach ihrer Verstoßung vorübergehend zurückzog. Das gegenwärtige Oberhaupt des Hauses, Fürst (Prince) Constantin Mourouzi, lebt in Paris und ist französischer Staatsangehöriger.

Constantin Mourousis son fils Grand Drogman en 1821 exécuté le 4 avril 1821 Georges Mourousis fils de Constantin Grand Drogman de 1792 à 1795 et de 1795 à 1796 exécuté en 1796 Dimitrios Mourousis fils de Constantin, Grand Drogman de 1808 à 1812 exécuté le 25 octobre 1812. Panyotis Mourousis fils de Constantin, Drogman de la Flotte de 1809 à 1812 exécuté le 8 novembre 1812. Alexandru Constantin Moruzi (1805-1873), Ministre des Finances des deux "Principautés unies" de 1861 à 1862. Paul Mourousy (1915-2002), écrivain français. Yves Mourousi (1942-1998), journaliste français.
- Moruzi (gr. Μουρουζης) - ród Greków fanariockich, pochodząca zapewne z okolic Trapezuntu (według jednej z teorii jej protoplasta przybył w te okolice z Wenecji wraz z IV krucjatą). Stał się jedną z głównych rodzin greckich w Stambule. W XVII wieku rodzina przeniosła się do Wołoszczyzny, gdzie osiągnęła duże znaczenie, pochodziło z niej dwóch hospodarów Mołdawii i Wołoszczyzny - Konstantyn i Aleksander.
- Муру́зи — греческий и российский княжеский род. Фамилия впервые упоминалась в Трапезундской империи, куда, согласно семейной легенде, их предки прибыли с императором Алексеем Комниным (Великим). Точное происхождение рода неизвестно, но, по одной из гипотез, происходил от венецианцев, прибывших в Византию с 4-м крестовым походом. В XVII веке семейство стало одним из ведущих в Фанаре. Антиох Мурузи поселился в Константинополе в 1665 году. Его правнук Константин Мурузи был господарём Молдавии и Валахии с 1777 по 1782 год. Правнук последнего — Дмитрий Константинович — после восстания греков весной 1821 года, эмигрировал в Россию, спасаясь от массовых казней фанариотов. Его потомству в 1893 и 1905 годах было предоставлено право пользоваться в России княжеским титулом.
