- Mohammad Moin was a prominent Iranian scholar of Persian literature and Iranology. Mohammad Moin obtained his BA in literature and philosophy from University of Tehran (?) in 1934. He subsequently went to Belgium and graduated at University of (?) in applied psychology, anthropology and cognitive science under Elmer Knowles. On returning to Iran he carried out doctoral research at University of Tehran, culminating in a thesis for which he received a PhD with honours from this University in Persian literature and linguistics. He is the first doctoral graduate in Persian literature from University of Tehran. He was later appointed full professor at University of Tehran, from which position he was subsequently promoted as Distinguished Professor to the chair of Literary Criticism and Research in Literary Texts at the same University. He is best known for his contributions to The Dehkhoda Dictionary, a work he did in collaboration with Ali-Akbar Dehkhoda himself. Moin was President of the literature commission of the International Congress of Iranology. Mohammad Moin died in 1971 in Tehran. He is buried in Astaneh Ashrafiyeh, Gilan, Iran. His burial chamber was vandalized in 1981 by vigilantes, thought to be due to Moin's ties to the Pahlavi régime.

De retour en Iran, il s'inscrivit en doctorat de littérature persane et de linguistique à l'Université de Téhéran, doctorat qu'il obtint avec félicitation du jury. Il fut ainsi le premier docteur en littérature persane de l'Université de Téhéran. Il a été titulaire d'une chaire de critique et recherche littéraire à l'Université de Téhéran. Mohammad Moin est l'auteur du Dictionnaire Moin, ouvrage en six volumes. Le Professeur Moin est connu pour sa collaboration au Dictionnaire Dehkhoda. Il fut également président de la commission littéraire du Congrès international d'iranologie. Mohammad Moin est enterré à Astaneh Ashrafieh dans la province du Gilan.
