Misha Dichter (born September 27, 1945) is a classical pianist who was born in Shanghai to Polish-Jewish parents who had fled the Holocaust in Europe. When he was two years old, his family moved to Los Angeles, California, where he began studying piano at the age of five. While studying at the Juilliard School in New York, Dichter won the Silver medal at the 1966 International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, an accomplishment which helped launch his musical career.
